Prior Information:

- please see Visas

- from May 15 2014 applications for Schengen visas have to be submitted in person at the Italian Embassy in Wellington and fingerprints will be taken. Please Book your Appointment (see Online with the User)

- Children under the age of 12 are exempt.

Updates:
- Please note: from 2 July 2016, citizens of Tuvalu will be exempt from requiring a visa (visa- free access) when travelling to the Schengen area for a short stay  (up to 90 days within a 180 day period)  for tourism purposes

- Citizens of SAMOA / TONGA / MARSHALL ISLANDS can enter the Schengen area for  a short stay of 90 days within a 180 day period for tourism purposes with visa-free access (no visa required)

Please note that you can make an appointment or lodge your visa application only up to three months ahead the entry in the Schengen area (as per your trip’s itinerary).

Appointments for visas are available on: MONDAY-WEDNESDAY-FRIDAY.

NATIONAL VISA applicants may submit their application (duly signed in front of a Justice of the Peace) by track and trace courier. If required, they might be contacted for an interview in person.

VISA FEES

Schengen Visa - Short Stay (up to 90 days): NZ$ 97.00

Schengen Visa fee applicable to passport holders of the following countries: NZ$57.00
- Albania
- Bosnia-Herzegovina
- FYROM
- Moldova
Montenegro
- Russian Federation
- Serbia
- Ukraine                                             

National Visa - Long stay (more than 90 days):

Employment Visa: NZ$ 187.00

Sporting Activity Visa: NZ$ 187.00

Study Visa: Student Exchange Visa or University Study Visa: NZ$ 81.00

Working Holiday Visa: NZ$ 187.00

Children under 6 years of age: free of charge

PAYMENT OF VISA FEES
Only BANK CHEQUES made out to "Embassy of Italy in Wellington" are accepted as payment when submitting long-distance by courier.
A CASH payment (for the correct amount only) is accepted when lodging your application in person at the Embassy.

Please note that Visa fees can be subject to change without prior notice

Please note that there is NO additional fee for urgent visas
